900 Tickets Sold During Walk-A-Thon Bonaire
KRALENDIJK – On May 4th, Bonaire was full of sporting spirit during the 22nd edition of the Walk-A-Thon, organized by Special Olympics Bonaire (SOB). With no less than 900 tickets sold and around 500 participants, the event was once again a great success.
The Walk-A-Thon attracted a diverse group of walkers, runners, and cyclists, who moved enthusiastically and actively across the island. Of the 1,200 printed tickets, a significant number were also sold in support of the cause, without actual participation. This demonstrates the broad community engagement with the charitable event.
The proceeds from the Walk-A-Thon will be used to prepare Bonaire’s athletes for the upcoming Special Olympics Kingdom Games in Curaçao. The island will be proudly represented there by these exceptional athletes.
“Thanks to the contributions of all participants, donors, sponsors, and volunteers, we can continue to support our athletes’ dreams,” the organization stated. “Every contribution, big or small, makes a difference and gives our athletes the opportunity to grow and push their limits on a (inter)national level.”
Special Olympics Bonaire thanks everyone who contributed to the success of the Walk-A-Thon and emphasizes that events like this make Bonaire not only more athletic, but also more inclusive.
