SO International Events processes your personal data because you use our services and/or because you provide this information to us yourself.

Special and/or sensitive personal data we process
Our website and/or service does not intend to collect data about website visitors who are younger than 16 years, unless they have permission from their parents or guardian. However, we cannot verify whether a visitor is older than 16. We therefore advise parents to be involved in the online activities of their children, to prevent data from being collected about children without parental consent.

If you believe that we have collected personal data of a minor without such permission, please contact us at info@specialolympics2026.nl, and we will delete this information.

Purpose and legal basis for processing personal data
SO International Events processes your personal data for the following purposes:

• To send our newsletter and/or promotional brochure.
  • To be able to call or email you if necessary to provide our services.
  • To inform you about changes to our services and products.

How long we retain personal data
SO International Events does not retain your personal data longer than strictly necessary to achieve the purposes for which your data is collected. We apply the following retention period: all personal data will be deleted no later than December 31, 2026.

Sharing personal data with third parties
SO International Events does not sell your data to third parties and will only provide it if necessary for the execution of our agreement with you or to comply with a legal obligation. We enter into a data processing agreement with companies that process your data on our behalf, to ensure the same level of security and confidentiality of your data. SO International Events remains responsible for these processing activities.

In this copy, please black out your photo, MRZ (machine-readable zone, the strip with numbers at the bottom of the passport), passport number, and Citizen Service Number (BSN). This is to protect your privacy. We will respond to your request as quickly as possible, but within four weeks.

SO International Events would also like to point out that you have the option of submitting a complaint to the national supervisory authority, the Dutch Data Protection Authority.
